      • Totalitarian nations managed to get the virus under control much more efficiently by restricting liberties, and engaging in repressing measures for people not abiding with restrictions

    • As always, the poorest nations are the less prepared to the pandemic
    • Religious extremists see the virus as a punishment from God of the West values of indulgence and capitalism
    • Extreme left ideological groups see restrictions as a dangerous infringement of individual freedom, and the beginning of a full blown totalitarianism of the establishment
